The origin of Poker is still discussed, as nobody can say for sure from what games it originates. Poker can be based on one of the Chinese or Persian card games. According to some books France is the birthplace of Poker. On the one hand the first country, in which card games appeared was China and the first game with 25 cards and 5 suits appeared in Persia, on the other hand, it was France, where gamblers began to play with decks with 4 suits: spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts. During the Wild West period of United States history, a place where one could play Poker could be found in just about every town. Poker has many variations, although the rules of play and strategy differ, the hierarchy of winning hands remains the same.
