The origin of Poker is still discussed, as nobody can say for sure from what games it originates. One of the Chinese or Persian games can be the an ancestor of the game. According to some books and dictionaries the game came from France. China was the first country in which card games appeared, in Persia there was a game with 25 cards and 5 suits and in France gamblers began to use decks consisting of suits made from spades, diamonds, clubs, and hearts. So, there are still a lot of questions and disputes about the game of Poker. New Orleans was the first state, in which the game of Poker appeared, later, the game was played all over the country. In 1835 Poker was one of the most popular games and then it was different from the modern version of the game. During the civil war other Poker variations appeared and they were very popular. Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers were introduced and they became every popular. Poker could be played in nearly every town during the Wild West period in the USA. Poker is the only casino game, in which players play against each other, but not against the house.
