Poker is played with a regular deck of 52 cards without Jokers. It is pretty much a game of chance. Sure there are a lot of professional players out there but the chance is always the same for anybody to get the right cards or not. Before you sit down at a poker table make sure to read the sign next to the dealer which shows the minimum table limit. Players make their bets and then each player is dealt five cards face down. After this first deal the first round of betting starts. To stay into the game you have to make a bet equal to the highest bet made by one of the players. You can leave all the cards or you can throw away some of them. If you have good cards you can hold all of them, if you have bad cards you can throw away all of them as well. You will the same number of cards instead of those you have thrown away. The betting round is followed by the showdown, which determines the winner. The player with the strongest hand wins the pot.
