Poker is played all over the world Poker has some features of the card games, which were played long ago, but the modern version of the game is a purely American game. There exist several Poker variations, but they don’t differ from each other greatly, the principle is the same. A person who has learned these principles can play without difficulty in any game. Poker is a game of betting as to which player holds the best hand. In most poker variations the combination of five highest-ranking cards form a winning hand, but in some poker games the strongest hands are different. In High/Low poker the pot can be split by two players. The player who has the strongest hand and the player, who has the weakest hand are the winners. All bets made by all players go in a pile of chips in the center of the table, called the pot. You can compete for the pot only if you agree to meet the highest bet made by another player. Because of this rule, players are able to bluff and win the pot. To win the pot is the objective of the game. There are two ways of winning the pot. After making all the bets there is a showdown. The player who has the strongest hand is the winner. If one of the players make a bet, which is not met by other players, he wins the pot without showing his cards. All cards of the 52 card deck are used. The cards are dealt one at a time, clockwise motion (number of cards varies with game). Aces are high, but aces rank low in the sequence A-2-3-4-5.
