All poker players can be divided into four groups. Each of these styles has strengths and weaknesses, and each of these styles can be profitable in the correct situation. Each style is based on two attributes: Whether the player is loose and play a lot of hands or tight and play very few hands. Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players. Loose-Aggressive In an online poker environment this is the weakest category. These players are constantly raising before and after the flop. If playing in a real casino such a strategy works against poor players and allows a player to win only small pots. But in an online casino this strategy will bring nothing but losses. Sharks are often attracted by such players. Sharks let such a player has his small pots, but then they are ready to break this player and win all his money. The only advice here is not to stick to one and the same table. It is better to change tables every 50 hands. Loose-Passive They are no more stronger than the first group. The players of this group will gain success if there are a lot of wild players at the table and everything is determined only by luck. They typically will simply call the bets of the other players disregarding the Pot Odds or strength of their hand. Such players can stay in the game longer than anybody else, but they will never be able to beat the house edge. Tight-Passive These players can win money simply because there are so many bad players in the online poker rooms. The main weak point is that it is very easy to see and notice such players. You never have to worry about a bluff from them. This player is more likely to call the bets of other players or to make small bets. If not, they will fold. Tight-Aggressive This style can be very successful for online play. These players will only see a flop with a decent hand and will then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet.
