While each poker player has their own unique playing and decision making style, there are basically only four main categories of players. All these types of players have their own techniques which can be very useful under certain circumstances.
There are at least two main attributes for each of these types.
Depending on the number of hands the player plays with the players can be either tight or loose. Tight players play few hands and loose players play with a lot of hands.
Whether the player is aggressive or passive. An aggressive player raises and bluffs a lot. A passive player prefers to call the bets of other players.
Loose-Aggressive
Loose-aggressive player is the weakest player especially in online poker game. These players are constantly raising before and after the flop. If playing in a real casino such a strategy works against poor players and allows a player to win only small pots. But in an online casino this strategy will bring nothing but losses. Loose-Aggressive players attract sharks. The sharks are fine with letting these players have 10 small pots; they are after the three large pots which will eventually break this player. The only way this strategy works is for the player to wander from one table to another approximately every 50 hands.
Loose-Passive
The players of this type can also be said to be weak. The players of this group will gain success if there are a lot of wild players at the table and everything is determined only by luck. They typically will simply call the bets of the other players disregarding the Pot Odds or strength of their hand. Unlike other players these ones can stay in the game for a very long period of time. But still even they are not able of beating the house.
Tight-Passive
What allows players of this type to win is other players who play the game wrong. Such players are easy to notice. Players of this type never bluff. This player is more likely to call the bets of other players or to make small bets. If not, they will fold.
Tight-Aggressive
This is the best type among all others. They have the following principle of the game: see a flop with a decent hand and then take a shot at the pot after the flop with a bet. Online Stud Poker Win.
