Poker originates from several games, but hardly anybody knows these games.
One of the Chinese or Persian games can be the an ancestor of the game. According to some books France is the birthplace of Poker. On the one hand the first country, in which card games appeared was China and the first game with 25 cards and 5 suits appeared in Persia, on the other hand, it was France, where gamblers began to play with decks with 4 suits: spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts.
