Poker can originate from some Chinese or Persian game. According to some books France is the birthplace of Poker. The first card games appeared in China, the card game with 25 cards and 5 suits appeared in Persia and it France gamblers played with decks, which had 4 suits, that we have now. The true origin of the game remains shrouded in mystery. New Orleans was the first state, in which the game of Poker appeared, later, the game was played all over the country. At the beginning of the 19th century the game was extremely popular, but it differed from the modern version of the game. During the civil war other Poker variations appeared and they were very popular. Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers were introduced and they became every popular. New Poker variations such as Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers enjoyed wide popularity during the Wild West period of the US history. Poker has many variations, although the rules of play and strategy differ, the hierarchy of winning hands remains the same.
