Poker originates from several games, but hardly anybody knows these games.
Poker can originate from some Chinese or Persian game. According to some books France is the birthplace of Poker. On the one hand the first country, in which card games appeared was China and the first game with 25 cards and 5 suits appeared in Persia, on the other hand, it was France, where gamblers began to play with decks with 4 suits: spades, diamonds, clubs and hearts. So, the origin of the game is still discussed. In the USA the game appeared in New Orleans and it was spread all over the country. The game of Poker became very popular nearly at once, but then it was a little different from the game we play now. New Poker variations, which were also very popular appeared during the Civil War. Stud, Draw and Straight Pokers were introduced and they became every popular. Poker could be played in nearly every town during the Wild West period in the USA. Poker is a unique game as each player plays against other players, but not against the house. Poker has many variations, although the rules of play and strategy differ, the hierarchy of winning hands remains the same. Nowadays Poker is played all over the world. Classic Stud Poker Payoff.
