The origin of Poker is still discussed, as nobody can say for sure from what games it originates.
Poker can be based on one of the Chinese or Persian card games. According to some books and dictionaries the game came from France. Such Poker variations as Stud, Draw, Straight Poker appeared and they were played by millions of gamblers. During the Wild West period of United States history, a place where one could play Poker could be found in just about every town. Only when playing Poker you play against other players and not against the house.
